I'm Mel, and I'm a craftoholic! I started this blog in 2017 as a place to share my creative ideas – from novelty cakes and crafts made of clay, to pretty papercut patterns and wonderful wood-burning.

I live in Essex with my partner Matt and I fit my crafting around my full-time job as Chief Sub Editor of Love Sunday magazine, a national newspaper supplement. Occasionally, I have the pleasure of writing craft pieces for the magazine, or online at Mirror.co.uk. You can check them out here.

In 2013, I also set up Melanie Rose Bakes, a part-time cake making and decorating business. It really took off, but after 18 months of juggling two jobs, I stopped taking orders and now just make cakes for fun rather than profit. You can have a browse through my gallery here.
